The pedestrian "boul"

The pedestrian "boul", so named by the agenais, is the lively and commercial avenue of the heart of town.
At the end of the 19th century, it became imperative to modernize the city by opening an artery crossing Agen from East to West. The works, initiated in 1880, follow the Parisian model of Haussmann. Since 2011, the boulevard is partly pedestrian, the stone facades are enhanced by specific lighting at nightfall, street furniture promotes exchanges and a fogging system and fountains on the ground soothe the heat summer. Ideal place to hear singing the accent Agenais while being tempted by the numerous shops.
