The Agen Canal Bridge

One of the most beautiful monuments of our destination, the Pont-Canal d'Agen is the second longest in France (580 m) and allows the Canal de Garonne to cross the Garonne at 12 meters in height.

On August 25, 1839, the Duke of Orleans laid the first stone of the Pont-Canal of Agen. Consisting of 23 arches this unique stone bridge, is extended by four consecutive locks. It offers a breathtaking view of the other important roads: the Garonne, the railway and the road. The Pont-Canal and its surroundings have become a favorite walk of the agenais and visitors. Many pleasure boats circulate on sunny days.
